Happy 95th Birthday

Today is my grandfather's 95th birthday!! He was one awesome dude! I know I promised yall a post about him on MLK but since his birthday is a significant one. :) 

He was born in 1920 right when the 1920s were roaring. He was the son of a Methodist minister who was of his time either. My great grandfather got run out of the town one time for burying a black woman who was at the time living with white man.  He was also one of the few white pastors who met with Dr. King during Selma-Montgomery match.

My grandfather married my grandma in 1946. My dad was the surprise. She was 40 when she had. She was beautiful. 

She passed away in 1970. I can't wait for the day to meet her. 

My grandfather was also ahead of his time. He stood up to the KKK.  I'm so glad to be have their blood running through my veins.  My grandfather is getting to live through so much. He never thought an African American would be president during his lifetime or my state would allow people that are gay to be allowed to marry. He's proud that he lived this long to see it. I am proud to be his granddaughter and have his middle name.

Commit Part 1

Hello Everyone!

Today is the first day of the series of my Commit. I know I have been lacking in posting about it. Just a lot of family mess going on. 

So back to commit! The first thing I'm ready to commit to is back to working out. I have not been working out since end of November. 

I started back working out tonight. I got to admit it definitely hurt. I know I'm going to be sleeping good tonight! 

So pleaSe be in prayer that I keep this up. The most I kept up with is 6 months. I really hope I can do better then that. 

I am also going to do cardio on my off days!!

Sorry For 2 Weeks Off

Hey Yall.

Sorry for a 2 week delay. I was given the sinus infection from he double hockey sticks.

 I started feeling bad last Thursday. I finally got to feeling betting Tuesday because I got got a shot, plus 2 meds at the Dr Monday. 

Al weather is being so bi polar. So I'm still on the mend. 

I hopefully will have a post for yall tomorrow. 

So to hold you off until tomorrow some new pics of me and Adam!! 

We now have been together 9 months!!

I was sick on Sat so I was little drugged up. Haha. He made me his famous chili. We   watched our favorite Disney movies and cuddled! One of my favorite things to do! Since we never just lay down and rest! 

I love this boy even if he makes silly faces.

Word for 2015..

So I finally have my word/quote for this year. 

I had to think long and hard about it. I wanted a word that could go in to every aspect of my life physically, emotionally, spiritually, relationally,  etc. 

My word is 

I'm at a point in my 25 year old life for once I am happy. Well I take that back mostly happy with my life right now. So with that. I will be finally blogging again on a consistent basis. 

I will be doing a weekly series then will turn monthly series. I will first explain all the things that I want to commit to. Then every month I will check in to show you how it's going. I don't know what day it will be. I'm thinking it maybe Tuesday's. 

So yeah!! I will leave you with this quote which will also be my 2015 quote of this year.

Goodbye 2014... Hello 2014

Oh 2014 you've been such an up and down year. I am kind of glad to get rid of it. 

In Feburary I thought my life was over when my heart was broken by Bryan. Even now looking back there was signs since August 2013 that it wasn't going to work. He was letting work get in the way. He was blaming work for not calling or texting me. 

Then I was so mad at the world and at God. I was so mad that God at that time took away what I thought was the best thing in my life. That was until April. 

April 1 oh the irony. God and me finally had a heart to heart. I regave my life to him. 

Then a week later. My Adam came into my life. He has changed my life so much for the better. He encourages me daily. He thinks I'm beautiful when I don't think I am. I can't believe it will be 9 months soon. 

He treats me 100000x better then all those jerks combined. 

I then finding out jerk # 2 never loved me hit me like a ton of bricks. Even though I was with Adam. It still hurt. 

Then in October I turned 25. I am still in shock. I know that may sound weird and all. 18 year old Kaitlyn didn't think she would make it this far because all of her crap she went through. 

Now in December I was blessed to go to HAWAII for Christmas and New Years!! I will be sharing these posts when I get back!

I also will be posting my 2015 goals. Have a safe and amazing New Years  Eve!!

Struggle

These past few weeks have been struggle for me physically, emotionally, and etc. 

Like I want to speak out about it but it's hard to.

So right now I am keeping myself silent.

7 Months Ago...

7 months ago today I took a chance and went on a date with guy who I had only been talking to for a few days.

  He was everything I dreamed about when I was little girl. 

First he was a Christian. You see I did date guys that were Christians before but however this felt different. Like I can't even describe it. 

Second he was a family guy. He cared about his family it was evident. 

Third he was kind and sweet. Never really had a bad word to say whenever we texted or talked. 

Fourth he loved movies. That was one of the first thing that got us talking. 

Fifth he loved musicals. I had long forgotten about my love of musicals since the other 2 didn't like them. 

Sixth he was a foodie. I myself love weird kind of food. Even though there's a few things I won't even try aka chicken livers sorry babe. Haha. 

there's so much I could tell yall but I'm going to leave it at that. Haha.
