Adam's Take on First Date Plus More...

After two and a half years together, my ex-girlfriend had broken up with me for a coworker she had “feelings” for. I decided to be miserable for a few days, but while I was moping, I decided to pray about someone who fit God’s ideal woman for me. I thought long and hard about what I *needed* from a partner and what I *wanted.* I realized what I used to want was totally different than what I presently wanted…AND what I was presently wanted was more in line with what God wanted me to have.

I took myself to a dating website. Met a couple of … well…“interesting” people, but when I saw Kaitlyn’s picture, I was absolutely stunned. I am quick to write myself off as not being in the same league as other people, but I decided to look at her profile. The age thing was the first thing, other than her beauty, that I thought would be a deal breaker. But I read in to her profile. She talked about being a Christian. She talked of musicals, Disney, and family ideals that I shared. With more positives than negatives coming from my initial reading, I flirted by giving her a 5 star rating. Who would have known that I would get a reply so quickly? We hit it off well and began texting that very day. We shared so much trivia with each other and talked about our jobs and families. 3 days later we were talking on the phone, which was awesome. I love breaking out movie quotes, and I thought to myself after our first phone call “I do remember the first time I heard the sweetest voice in the wide world.” Her voice gave me chills.

What was more surprising is that the next day she asked if I wanted to get some lunch with her. I had to meet this woman face to face! Of course I said yes. I ran upstairs, cleaned myself up, made her a couple cds of things we had bonded over (the Lesley Ann Warren version of Cinderella and Clue) and was on my way to meet my destiny, though I wouldn’t have believed it at the time. I killed a few minutes at Best Buy while waiting on her arrival, and after a few minutes she texted me to say she had arrived. And for the first of many times to follow she sent a text saying “I see you.” Sneaky Kaitlyn has a way of hiding from me and watching me search for her. My don’t know if my first reaction was “she is so much cuter in real life” or “she’s so tiny,” but either way I immediately labeled her “adorable.” Lunch flew by too quickly, so I was glad she suggested hanging out at Best Buy, which also was nowhere near long enough for me…so it was off to Cold Stone Creamery for dessert, where we really got to talk a lot!

By the end of the date, I had been invited to one of her friend’s wedding a couple weeks later. I thought, maybe, this would be the next time I would see her. I prayed a lot about Kaitlyn that night. I knew I wanted to be in her life and wanted her in mine. Prayers work, when you seek God’s will earnestly and without any glory for yourself. That glory will be given to you when He rewards you with what you’ve pursued. Ever since that night, we have been almost inseparable. We’ve gone out over twenty times in less than two months.
I get to talk to her every day. I thought at first, it would just be texting, but I have verbally spoken to her every day since our first date. I can’t imagine not having that in my life.

I met and adore her family. Every one of them is unique and kind to me, which I know might be hard…me being a relatively unknown to them. It was extremely intimidating for me to ask permission to date somebody. I’ve never had to do that before, but to know Kaitlyn’s father, you’d think I was a fool to be scared. I finally asked, after some encouragement, on May 9, and we’ve been “official” ever since.

I cherish every moment we spend together. It doesn’t matter if we are dressing up for a wedding, just going out to eat, going to hear her sister sing, hanging out and watching movies, whatever it is, I make the most of my time with Kaitlyn. I literally thank God EVERY day for letting her be in my life, as she does for me. We pray together before one of us goes to sleep and we’re working on a couple’s devotional to strengthen our relationship.

I plan on being around for quite a long time, Kaitlyn-followers. I never will intentionally hurt her, and I’ve given her permission to let any of her friends/family hunt me down if I do. So stick around, enjoy the show, and pray for us once in a while! --Adam

Hello Blog World...

Hello Blog World!!

Nice to see you again. I'm sorry I have been MIA  since March 12. A lot has happened since then.

Well to recap breakup happened. I was angry with God for letting who I thought was the love of my life leave me. I was so so angry y'all.

Well on April 2nd me and God finally had "the talk."  I was sick of being angry and sick of being taking advantage by guys. So I finally prayed to God to take away my anger and finally help me overcome this life I was living.

On April 8th I started to this guy named Adam. At first I was nervous just because to me he was way older then what my "guidelines"  were. However I looked at his interests and his hobbies and I knew we would hit off. At first I was like oh he could be a great friend to have. So we started to talk/text every day.

On Saturday the 13th we were talking about sushi ( he had never had "real sushi" before me he would only eat if it was on a buffet) and I remembered he brought up he just had gotten paid the previous day. So me being the smart one asked if he wanted to go try "real sushi"
with me at this place. Which he did. It's only 30 min away so i told him I would meet him there in a hour and half. So I showered and got ready to go.

Y'all I was so so nervous. So I met him and y'all all my nerves went away the moment I hugged him. We ate sushi ( with pop rocks on it no lie) and had some Cold Stone. It was by far one of the best first dates I ever been on.

We have been together ever since!!

He asked my dad to date on May 9th.

We have been on more dates these past almost 2 months then I did with MAG and JBK put together.

And he texts and calls daily!!!!

I am going to try and blog these next 29 days!!
I will talk about our dates and other stuff that is happening!!

I also hope you love the new blog design!!

I will leave you now with some pics!!

Love,

Kaitlyn

Breakups are Hard..

I haven't blogged in almost 2 weeks. I just haven't felt led to write lately. These 2 quotes pretty much describe what I'm feeling right now.  I am about to honest about a few things so you have been warned.

It's hard to accept the person you love or in my case loved is not the person you fell in love with. ( I still love him as a person but not the romantic love any more. Sure I miss "us" sometimes and most of the time now I miss the companionship.)

When me and Bryan started dating it was all about me and our happiness. I was the number 2 to number 1 being God. I was loving it.

Then we both graduated and a lot of things changed obviously. He had to find a job obviously to support himself and enventually us which we were both planing on that. He got a job 2 hours away. I thought we would be ok because we had been further away while at school.  But that's wasn't the same at all.

Work slowly became creeping up to the number 2 spot and I was put on the back burner. eventually it has become number 1. I hate to say that.

He promised me at the beginning of this he would never hurt me. But as you can see he did.

So right now I'm struggling to make sense of it. That the guy I love/loved chose this over me.

I am angry at God right now because of all this. I know that's stupid. But right now it is the only thing I can make sense of. I know I will finally figure out one day why this happened, but right now I can't.

Kaitlyn

I wear Purple Today

hey everyone I am guest posting over at my friends blog today but you can check out what I wrote here today as well as on her blog and I would love for you to go support her as well so I'm going to give you her blog address as well.

http://www.finding-free.com/?m=1

hey everyone! I'm Kaitlyn. I'm Lauren's biffle/biffie. I have been her friend now for 3 years going on 10 plus. Totally kidding about the 10 plus years, but really I have been her best friend for 3 years now.  How did I know she was going to be my best friend she got me out of a shirt in a dressing room. not even a week knowing me. haha.

We have been through a lot together my first 2 relationships plus the heartbreak coming from those events. to the biggest one of them of them all.

           Lauren's eating disorder.

You see I found through email before she came out on this blog. I was the first friend she told. Receiving that email was one of the saddest days of my life. I blamed myself for not seeing it. I spent everyday with this girl. Well mostly everyday. Oh I cried for days.

However being friends with a person who has ED in serious and hard business.

One of the hardest things is when the disease even cut me out of her life for sometime. It was so so hard. You see Lauren is one of the true friends who actually gets me. She gets my weird quirks, my anxiety. this girl is going to be yellow dress
( jk) wearing bridesmaid, my engagement photographer, and so much more.

Here's a few things you can do to help if your "Lauren"'in your life has an ED.

1. Find the right time to do it. Don't do it when it is a stressful time. Be cautious when you do it.

2. Don't let the focus be on meals. this is one of the hardest. meals are hardest for people who have ED. So do something else for a change.

3. Lastly be patient with them. Her ED won't disappear over night. Rome wasn't built in a day people. Just be there and love on them when you can.

I hope you enjoyed this post.

Love,

Kaitlyn

Change..

There's going to be a lot of change around here. that's not including what I did to my hair on Saturday. which I broke one of my 25 before 25 goals.

I cut my hair. Like a lot of it. It was needed. I had a ton of dead ends. plus it was getting way too long for my taste and it has so much body  and get tangly so much.

that's all of the hair I lost well most of it.

The Finished project!!

I am so in love with it. I even like I can't put my hair anymore.

Also this is going to be one of the hardest things I have ever typed.

Me and Bryan broke up yesterday. I really want to respect himself and I during this time not to get into specifics.

However I do want to say. I am so glad for our relationship. He showed me a lot. He showed me good guys do exist again. That someone could love despite all my "scars."  I am so thankful for it.

So right now I am going to focus on me. I worked out this morning. It was hard getting back up early, but I know/need/can do this!!

So that's all for now.

literary junkies Vol. 2

I linked up with these girls last month and I loved it.  espically now since I got a kindle from 2nd & Charles. I am so in love with it. I didn't think I would. haha.

so now onwards to the questions!!

1. What are you reading right now? Tell us about it!

I'm actually reading like 5 books right now. just started them.

Eleanor and Park

My Big Bottom Blessing

Jesus Feminst

2. What books are on your bedside table at the moment?

oh that's a ton. I don't have enough room on my bookshelfs so books on the bedside and floor next to it.

I think one is Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. haha.

3. Amazon recently released the 100 books to read (http://facebook.us4.list-manage.com/track/click?u=e4b480e8080a5bd4a6734a386&id=9974f9b1f9&e=f00416b3fe) in a lifetime.  What did they miss that you would add?
ooo that's a hard one. maybe this book. it was a book of my childhood and will be when I have kids.

4. Are there any books being published in 2014 that you are anxiously awaiting?  If so, what are they?

well it just came out a few weeks ago.

the stars won't go out. it is by the person who the fault in our stars is dedicated too.

5. Name the next 3 books in your To Be Read List (the ones you will be reading next on your list.)

1. Serena

2. I don't know yet it just depends on what's the cheapest on amazon or at the library.
